From 1st September 2017, we will be introducing a small number of baby and toddler places at our Downend Road site and creating a pre-school at our Coronation Road site. This means that both nurseries will be able to offer continuity of care without the need to transfer between sites as was previously the case. These changes are in preparation for the doubling of the Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) from 570 to 1,140 hours a year and the anticipated increase in demand for local places.

To accommodate the change and to improve the flow of activities for the pre-school downstairs, we will be introducing the following improvements over the next few weeks:

-The main downstairs hall will be incorporated into the two main rooms to create a free-flow environment for activities with better access to the toilets and garden

-The main entrance to the premises will be moved to the side door and the current doorway will be for emergency use only

-Access to the upstairs of the building (which will become the baby and toddler unit) will be by the side stairway next to the kitchen

All children will still be kept in age specific groups and benefit from tailored activities to suit their needs. We believe this is a welcome development and one which gives better continuity of care for children. If you have any questions, please call Nicola or Ruby at the nursery on 0117 330 5300.
