Downend Road - Downend
Mama Bear’s nursery and pre-school in Downend is designed to be a stimulating place of discovery offering excellent childcare for babies aged 3 months to children of 5 years.
Housed in a converted Victorian vicarage, the nursery is surrounded by an extensive mature walled-garden with an all-weather playground to the rear. It is important to us that our children have the opportunity to play outdoors as much as possible and the large garden (including baby garden) has plenty of toys to spark children’s imagination and curiosity. You have to come and see our pirate ship!
Inside the nursery, there is a home-from-home feel with well-resourced rooms and age appropriate toys. Our team are experienced in early years’ education and design activities especially for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. The nursery also benefits from a pre-school teacher who designs activities to support the transition to primary school.
The nursery is easy to find, located on the corner of Downend Road and Shrubbery Road, and is on the bus routes for numbers 48 and 49. We are perfectly located for parents in the Downend, Fishponds, Mangotsfield, Emersons Green and Staple Hill areas. There is plenty of parking outside the nursery making dropping off and picking up very convenient.
Working families of 3 and 4 year olds are able to use their 'funded entitlement’ with us. This is 24 hours of funded childcare and early education a week for 47.5 weeks of the year (all year round) or 30 hours a week for 38 weeks per year (term time only - limited availability) funded by the Government.
