Children at Barewell Road observed some road works taking place outside of the nursery garden fence, this sparked the children’s interest, and they became fascinated in observing the work of the builders – Becky our level 3 practitioner decided to act on this new found interest and created a wonderful construction area with the road works in the backdrop – the children made their own cement to carry out large scale building. Nursery staff invited one of the builders over Mark, he brought some images of the work he had been doing in the pipes under ground and spoke to the children about health and safety – he was very impressed with their construction area!
