A report by Ofsted inspectors just published has awarded Mama Bear’s Abbey Manor Park nursery in Yeovil an overall rating of ‘Good.’
The nursery and pre-school, which employs 27 members of staff, is run by leading South West childcare provider Mama Bear’s, a family business with 24 settings across Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset and Devon.
Manager Hannah Fox said: “My team works very hard to provide the best quality care for the babies and children we look after and we are pleased to have our work recognised by the official regulator.
“We focus on creating a home-from-home environment and pride ourselves on tailoring care to each individual child’s needs.
“Nothing makes us happier than seeing each little individual blossom and flourish during their time with us before they go off to school.
“I was very pleased to see the inspector acknowledge the warmth of the welcome that greets each child at the start of the day, and by comments on how much fun the children have with us.
“What also means a great deal to us are the many testimonials we receive from parents praising staff for going ‘above and beyond’ and telling us that they happily recommend our nursery to any friends who are looking for childcare.”
The inspector reported that the partnership between staff and parents is ‘superb’, saying they work with parents and other professionals to ensure that children make the best possible progress, and that all children at Abbey Manor Park, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, develop well.
Based in the Old School on Houndstone Close, Mama Bear’s Yeovil setting offers extended hours, opening at 7.30am and closing at 6pm to give flexible options to parents employed at the nearby District Hospital and South Somerset District Council, as well as all families in the wider community.
With several older children recently having graduated from pre-school at Mama Bear’s to full-time schooling, there are currently a few vacancies at the nursery. The team is also happy to hear from early years professionals considering a change of setting, or from anyone considering a career in the early years sector.
