Hannah is the Stanbridge Road nursery manager. Her day-to-day role is very fluid and, in summary, includes supporting the team and individuals day to day with challenges, successes, and development, staff rotas, safeguarding, and working with the parents. Hannah serves as the central point of contact for all aspects of the nursery. Her role is now predominantly office-based, but she ensures she stays in touch with the day-to-day running by covering staff breaks most days and welcoming children and parents into the nursery. Hannah enjoys being in the nursery hustle and bustle and keeping in touch with her team, children, and parents. Hannah was a deputy at the nursery for a long time, and she and the Mama Bear’s team built her confidence until she was ready to tackle the next step and be responsible for managing the nursery overall.
Hannah did a lot of work with the children with additional needs when she first started working at Mama Bear's, and she found it difficult not to spend so much time with the children when she became a manager because she is very hands-on. Hannah said, “It's taken me a while to adjust." Hannah has been the manager at Stanbridge Road for two and a half years, and it has taken her some time to adjust to the different relationships with parents, in particular. Hannah is in charge of the overall operation of the nursery, staff, and all paperwork for the setting, including health and safety, training, and development.
Hannah is still the SENCO lead at the nursery, and she has been for several years; she is currently training one of her team members to take over the very important role in September.
