Downend Road pre-school enjoyed a trip to their local car garage just across the road from nursery. This supported and extended the children’s current interest in cars and garages. The children were able to carefully hold some heavy tools! They were much bigger than our tools at nursery! Pre-school were able to see cars being fixed on ramps and mechanics working hard to fix the cars. 
After this, pre-school continued their walk to Downend High Street where they visited the local flower shop to prepare for our flower festival. The children looked at the prices of the flowers, discussed their colours and their smells and bought some to bring back to nursery.
