The children have been enjoying making and tasting their own pancakes today, in celebration of Shrove Tuesday. The children were able to choose their favourite toppings throughout the day including strawberries, chocolate sauce, banana, raisins and sprinkles. The children all discussed why they think we might have pancakes on this day and talked about who they make them with at home. After the children used their cooking skills in the role play area, frying their own pancakes and squeezing lemon on them!

Not only have the children been tasting the pancakes we all had a flipping game. Pre-school thought it was a very funny game and had to practice carefully to keep the pancake in the frying pan! It was great fun!
