Where children have fun, learning

Amazing experiments at Fort View!

Check out all  the amazing experiments Fort View have done for Science Week!

The children put raisins in sparkling, cold and warm water and watched how they reacted.

We experimented with bread handling some slices in a controlled way using gloves, then some with washed hands and then some with dirty hands. We have hung them up to watch over the next week to see how they react to the different germs we have on our hands.

The walking water experiment involved dipping kitchen roll in different coloured water cups and watched as the water walked up the kitchen roll to make pretty patterns.

We also made volcanos using vinegar, baking soda and different coloured paint. The children mixed them together and then screamed in delight as it erupted out of its cups.

And finally they mixed cornflour and shaving foam with food colour to see the different texture they could make with different mixed materials.

Phew what a busy and exciting week!
