Paignton - Long Road
Our nursery located on the South Devon College campus is a lovely purpose-built facility offering outstanding childcare for all families in Paignton and the surrounding area.
Children are cared for in three well-resourced rooms and are able to free-flow between the light and spacious rooms and the lovely outdoor area.
The nursery has been consistently rated as ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by Ofsted in their last three inspections. The close links with the South Devon College makes sure our children have access to the best facilities including a sensory room and large sports hall. Mama Bear’s regularly visits the Horticulture and Animal Care Department to see the pigs, ponies, monkeys and meerkats.
Our staff team are carefully recruited and have regular training to make sure that that they are highly qualified and understand each child’s individual needs. The rooms are fully resourced with age-specific toys to make sure children are continually stimulated and are able to make new discoveries each day.
This setting was formerly Tom Thumb’s Day Nursery and became part of Mama Bear’s in September 2011. The nursery is open all year round (except bank holidays and Christmas Week) and welcomes all families as well as college students and staff.
Meet our Nursery manager: Yvette
"Long Road is an established and outstanding nursery which offers a happy, safe and welcoming environment for young children to explore. Our team of experienced and qualified staff enables us to plan and prepare for every child and deliver the highest standards of care, whilst ensuring developmental progress is recorded. Personal achievements are celebrated as the children grow. Working closely within our key groups at nursery and with our families we strive to prepare and support the children as they progress from the baby room right through to pre-school. During this unique and exciting journey the team delivers a rich and stimulating play space for the children to ensure they are actively learning new skills, as well as developing in confidence, independence and self-esteem ready for their transition to school."
