10.05.24 -

In a time when the early years market is facing a national shortage of skilled professionals, Mama Bear’s is proud to shine a spotlight on Amy, our newest nursery manager, showcasing the incredible possibilities available when embarking on a career in early years education.

Amy's journey with Mama Bear's began in 2017 when she took her first steps into the early childhood education sector as an apprentice at Long Road Nursery. With determination and a passion for learning, she embraced every opportunity to grow and develop her skills.

Completing her apprenticeship through South Devon College, Amy achieved a Level 3 position with us in 2019, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey. Her dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and she quickly ascended to the role of team leader in the baby room, where her natural leadership qualities and nurturing spirit shone through.

In October 2020, Amy was promoted to the position of deputy manager, a testament to her exceptional performance and ability to inspire those around her. In this role, she played a pivotal part in the smooth operation of the nursery, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and children alike.

In November 2023, Amy took on a new challenge at Midvale Road Nursery, where her expertise and dedication were instrumental in achieving a Good Ofsted result in April 2024. Her proactive approach and collaborative spirit were key factors in driving high standards and ensuring the well-being of all involved.

Now, Amy has stepped into the role of manager at Midvale Road Nursery, a testament to her unwavering commitment and leadership capabilities. With a clear vision and determination to drive the setting forward, Amy is poised to make a lasting impact, inspiring her team and shaping the early future of the children in her care.
