Children at Fort View have loved their new pre-school challenge area as thought up and designed by nursery worker Kayleigh C.

The challenge area is changed weekly and is taken from the nursery's gaps and strength cohort analysis ensuring they are promoting the areas that have been shown to need more help.

This week the challenge is mathematics. Kayleigh has put up a washing line with a little basket of socks and pegs. The challenge board details cues for the practitioners to encourage through play, for example:  

Can you peg up the matching pairs?

Can you count how many pairs there are?

Can you peg x5 socks?

Can you find the odd one out?

The children have really engaged with this area and as it changes weekly so they always remained interested.
